The Palace Museum, as a significant symbol of Chinese civilization, shoulders a dual mission in intercultural communication: cultural decoding and value reconstruction. This paper takes the translation of cultural relics on the English website of the Palace Museum as the research object, with a focus on how translation strategies achieve effective transmission of cultural connotations in intercultural communication. Employing a theoretical framework of intercultural communication and adopting case study analysis, the research systematically examines the linguistic representations in cultural relic translations. Research findings demonstrate that the English website of the Palace Museum realizes cultural transmission through diversified translation strategies, transforming the specific historical context of cultural relics into understandable expressions for foreigners. Results indicate that these translation strategies strike a balance between cultural authenticity and reader receptivity, preserving historical accuracy while enhancing international communication effects through intercultural adaptation. This paper provides a referential translation paradigm for the digital communication of museum cultural heritage, offering practical significance and theoretical value for improving global recognition of Chinese cultural symbols.
