《虬髯客传》是唐传奇名篇，由道学家杜光庭撰写，此书故事情节跌宕起伏、叙事手法曲折婉转、人物形象丰满鲜活，在中国文学史上享有盛誉。本文选以该文的周劲松和林语堂英译本为例，试从改写理论视角入手，结合文化适应策略，对周译本和林译本的案例进行分析。文本旨在通呈现两个译文的改写，探析周译本和林译本中译者主体性的体现，以期为后续翻译实践提供参考。

| Abstract |
The story The Man with the Curly Beard is highly acclaimed among Tang legendary novels. Written by Taoist Du Guangting, the story has twists and turns of a plot that vividly portrays its characters. It enjoys a huge reputation in the history of Chinese literature. This paper takes the English translations by Mr. Zhou Jinsong and Mr. Lin Yutang as examples and tries to analyze them from the viewpoint of rewriting theory and cultural adaption strategies. The combined analyses of rewritten translations of the two versions aim to explore the embodiment of the translator’s subjectivity in Zhou’s and Lin’s translations, hoping to provide some insights into future translation activities.
