Objective To observe the effect of family-centered care in the nursing of children with cerebral palsy in the intensive care unit. Methods A total of 64 children with cerebral palsy in the intensive care unit from June 2022 to June 2024 were selected. The enrolled cases were randomly sorted from 1 to 64 according to Excel. The odd-numbered sequence received routine care (32 cases, control group), and the even-numbered sequence received family-centered care (32 cases, observation group). The recovery of the children was evaluated. Results The motor ability of the children in the observation group after nursing was higher than that in the control group, P<0.05. The quality of life of the children in the observation group after nursing was higher than that in the control group, P<0.05. The length of hospital stay and the time of treatment in the intensive care unit were shorter in the observation group than in the control group, P<0.05. Conclusion Carrying out family-centered care in the nursing of children with cerebral palsy in the intensive care unit can improve the motor ability of children, increase the quality of life of children during treatment, help children recover, and shorten the treatment time of children.
