Central venous catheterization through peripheral veins is a procedure in which the catheter is inserted into the superior vena cava or inferior vena cava by puncturing the patients peripheral veins such as the noble vein, median cubital vein, external jugular vein, and femoral vein. It has the advantages of minimal trauma, long retention time, and avoiding repeated punctures, making it widely used in critically ill patients, chemotherapy patients, and those receiving parenteral nutrition. Patients need to undergo regular maintenance after catheterization, and there is a high level of demand for PICC continuity of care. Therefore, it is necessary to promptly clarify an efficient PICC continuity of care model. This article summarized the current situation of continuous nursing care of peripherally inserted central venous catheters under the background of Internet plus, and introduced the connotation of Internet plus nursing, the current application status, the development form and the results achieved.
