Objective To apply evidence-based nursing measures and conventional nursing measures to patients with colorectal cancer stomas, clarify the effect of evidence-based nursing, and promote the development of research on colorectal cancer stoma care. Methods A total of 62 patients who met the diagnostic criteria for colorectal cancer and received stoma treatment based on comprehensive clinical examination results from November 2023 to November 2024 were included in the study. They were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method, with 31 cases in each group. The control group received conventional nursing intervention, while the observation group received evidence-based nursing intervention. The effects of different interventions were compared and analyzed. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had a lower proportion of total stoma complications and higher quality of life data values, with P values < 0.05, indicating significant statistical differences. Conclusion Applying evidence-based nursing measures to patients with colorectal cancer stomas can reduce the risk of stoma complications and has a positive impact on improving quality of life.
