Methods Eighty-four patients with permanent enterostomy of rectal cancer were selected as the study object from January 2019 to January 2021. The depression self-assessment scale (SDS) was used to evaluate the depression emotion of patients. The depression group and the non-depression group were used to compare the medical records of sex, age and tumor stage between the two groups. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the influencing factors of depression in rectal cancer patients with permanent colostomy. Results The incidence of depression was 52.38%. There were significant differences in gender, age, family income, stoma related complications, working status, self-care ability, education level and tumor stage between depression group and non-depression group (P < 0.05), but there were no significant differences in residence and marital status between the two groups (P > 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that there were significant differences between depression group and non-depression group (P < 0.05) Regression analysis showed that female, age < 45 years old, low family income, stoma related complications, on-the-job, poor self-care ability were the influencing factors of depression in rectal cancer patients with permanent colostomy.
