Objective To explore the clinical application effect of Chinese medicine soaking combined with ankle pump exercise in the management of postoperative swelling in patients with varicose veins of the lower limbs. Methods A total of 80 patients who underwent varicose vein surgery in our hospital from October 2023 to October 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were randomly divided into a control group (40 cases, conventional postoperative care) and an observation group (40 cases, Chinese medicine soaking combined with ankle pump exercise). The postoperative swelling, pain score and recovery time of the two groups of patients were observed and recorded. Results The postoperative swelling degree of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, the pain score was lower than that of the control group, and the recovery time was shorter than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Chinese medicine soaking combined with ankle pump exercise can effectively reduce postoperative swelling and postoperative pain in patients with varicose veins of the lower limbs, promote early recovery of patients, have high clinical application value, and are worthy of promotion.
