Abstract Objective: To explore the relationship between the perception of discrimination in patients with mental disorders, the sense of meaning in life, and the understanding of social support. Methods: The Comprehension Social Support Scale, the Meaning of Life Scale and the Social Impact Scale were used to survey 233 patients with mental disorders. Results: The perception of discrimination in patients with mental disorders was significantly negatively correlated with the meaning of life (r=-0.483, P<0.01), and the perception of discrimination was significantly negatively correlated with the perception of social support (r=-0.287, P<0.01). The perception of social support and life Significance was significantly positively correlated (r=0.594, P<0.01). Comprehend that social support has a mediating effect between the level of discrimination and meaning of life in patients with mental disorders, and the mediating effect accounts for 31.64% of the total effect. Conclusions: Reducing the level of perception of discrimination can improve the sense of meaning of life in patients with mental disorders; understanding that the level of social support has a mediating effect between the level of perception of discrimination and the sense of meaning in life; improving the sense of meaning of life in patients with mental disorders is conducive to improving patients positive emotions and promoting recovery.
