【Objective】To meet the demand for ornamental lilies in Changsha flower market, we screened out high-quality lily resources suitable for cultivation in Changsha. 【Method】In this study, we applied the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to adjust the performance traits of plants from three as- pects, namely, cultivation performance,flower-viewing traits, plant characteristics, and comprehensively evaluated the ornamental traits of 18 lilies introduced. By assigning weights to the primary indicators (cultivation performance, flower-viewing traits, plant characteristics) and secondary indicators (10 trait indicators), the weights of the 10 trait indicators were finally determined, and the data were analyzed u- sing principal component analysis and cluster analysis. 【Result】According to the weighted scores, the traits with the highest weights were pest and damage resistance, flower color and mottling, leaf density, and flower posture, with respective weights of 0. 681 4, 0. 586 0, 0. 590 7, 0. 218 0. Based on these re- sults, the 18 lily varieties were categorized into three levels: Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ, which was in line with the results of principal component analysis and cluster analysis. 【Conclusion】Based on the results of the com- prehensive scoring of the ornamental value of 18 lily varieties and species, the four Class I varieties, ‘Se- cret Kiss’, ‘Red Made-up’, Lilium×formolongi, and ‘Golden Lily Orange’, have excellent cultivation performance and ornamental traits and can be promoted as excellent varieties in Changsha, Hunan.
