Abstract: Objective: To explore the clinical effect of combining sodium valproate and quetiapine in the treatment of bipolar disorder manic episode patients. Method: Case data were collected and filed from January 2021 to January 2023. The subjects were bipolar disorder manic episode patients admitted to the hospital, with a total of 80 cases included. The subjects were divided into a control group (treated with sodium valproate) and an observation group (treated with sodium valproate and quetiapine) based on a standardized "random number table" method, with 80 cases in each group; Observe and compare the clinical efficacy, positive and negative symptoms (PANSS), manic score, degree of depression, and incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups. Result: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the scores of the Beck Ravensen Mania Rating Scale (BRMS) and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) in both groups showed varying degrees of decline, and the observed group had a greater decrease than the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the PANSS scores of both groups showed a downward trend, and the observation group showed a lower trend (P<0.05); Comparison of adverse reaction rates between two groups of patients (P>0.05). Conclusion: The combination of sodium valproate and quetiapine in the treatment of bipolar disorder manic episode patients can achieve definite therapeutic effects with fewer adverse reactions and good safety.
