[Abstract] Objective To explore the effects of esketamine anesthesia on anxiety, depression and pain in elderly patients undergoing radical resection of colorectal cancer. Methods A total of 92 elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer in our hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected and grouped according to random number table method. General anesthesia was given to 46 patients in the control group, and esketamine anesthesia was added to 46 patients in the observation group. Anxiety and depression, postoperative pain and recovery period were compared between the two groups. Result: Visual analogue scale (VAS) and Hamilton anxiety rating scale (Hamilton anxiety rating scale) were used in postoperative observation group. The incidence of HAMA, Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD) score, Ramsay sedation score, cough, chills, agitation, nausea and vomiting during extubation were lower than those in control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion: The intervention of esketamine anesthesia induction in elderly patients undergoing radical resection of colorectal cancer can effectively improve the early anxiety and depression and the quality of recovery period, and reduce the degree of body pain.
