Objective To analyze the clinical treatment and effect of chronic cough symptoms in respiratory medicine. Methods A total of 260 patients with chronic cough symptoms in our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups with 130 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given ketotifen fumarate tablets and compound methoxyna Ming Capsule treatment, the observation group was supplemented with montelukast sodium on this basis. The disappearance time of cough, expectoration, dyspnea, pharyngeal itching, pulmonary function, total effective rate, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The disappearance time of cough, expectoration, dyspnea and pharyngeal itching in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the lung function of the patients after treatment was higher than that of the control group, and the total effective rate was higher than that of the control group, P<0.05. There were no adverse reactions in the two groups during treatment, P>0.05. Conclusion Ketotifen fumarate tablets, compound methoxyphenamine capsules combined with montelukast sodium are effective in the treatment of chronic cough symptoms, and can further relieve clinical chronic cough symptoms and improve lung function of patients with high safety.
