Objective To study 76 patients with type 2 diabetes who implemented chronic disease management from January 2022 to December 2023. According to the time before and after admission, 38 patients were divided into a control group for routine treatment and 38 patients in an observation group for additional diabetes nutritional therapy. The treatment effects were compared by weight, abdominal circumference before and after intervention, blood sugar fluctuation amplitude after intervention, and complication probability. Results Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in weight and abdominal circumference between the two groups (P﹥0.05). After treatment, the observation group had a lower weight and smaller abdominal circumference, and the blood sugar fluctuation amplitude after intervention was lower, and the probability of complications was lower, and the comparison was statistically significant (P﹤0.05). Conclusion Adding diabetes nutrition therapy to the treatment of type 2 diabetes can promote a reasonable diet, reduce BMI and waist circumference, and lay an effective physical foundation for maintaining stable blood sugar. It can also reduce the probability of complications and benefit patients in the long term.
