Objective To clarify the value of applying Lis Jin Gu Xiao Tong Gao externally in the treatment of lower back and leg pain caused by lumbar disc herniation. Methods A total of 150 patients who met the diagnostic criteria for low back and leg pain caused by lumbar disc herniation based on comprehensive clinical examination results from September 2023 to September 2024 were included in the study. After random numbering, each patient was randomly divided into two groups: a control group and an observation group, with 75 patients in each group. The control group received routine treatment intervention, while the observation group received Lis Jin Gu Xiao Tong Gao external application treatment intervention. The different intervention effects (clinical indicators and symptoms) were compared and analyzed. Results the clinical indicators in the observation group had lower values, and the clinical symptoms in the observation group had lower values, with a P-value of<0.05, indicating a significant statistical difference. Conclusion In patients with lumbar disc herniation causing lower back and leg pain, the external application of Lis Jin Gu Xiao Tong Gao can help alleviate clinical symptoms and reduce the duration of clinical symptoms.
