Objective To analyze the application effect of problem-based learning (PBL) combined with traditional teaching method LBL (Lecture-Based Learning, LBL) in the clinical teaching of neurology. Methods A total of 79 students who participated in the clinical teaching of neurology department in our hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were included in the study. They were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 39 in the experimental group and 40 in the control group. The students in the control group were taught by LBL teaching method, and the experimental group was taught by using the PBL teaching method on the basis of the LBL teaching method in the control group. Results Before PBL teaching, there was no significant difference in the theoretical scores, practical operation scores and clinical comprehensive ability scores of the students in the experimental group and the control group (P>0.05). The comprehensive ability scores were improved, and the difference within the group was significant (P<0.05), and the experimental group was higher than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion PBL combined with LBL teaching method in the clinical teaching of neurology department has a good effect, and the theoretical and practical results have been greatly improved, and the clinical comprehensive ability has also been improved, which has laid a solid foundation for future clinical work.
