Objective To analyze the efficacy of the application of the clinical care pathway nursing model in the clinical care plan of patients with PICC catheterized tumor chemotherapy. Methods A total of 80 cancer patients who visited the hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were included in the pilot study by dynamic randomization method, and then 40 cases were divided into the control group for routine care and 40 cases in the observation group to increase clinical care pathway care. Under the differences of different nursing models, the effectiveness of nursing impact was compared with ESCA self-care ability, Champion health belief score, MCMQ medical coping style score and other indicators. Adverse events such as catheter dislodgement, venous thrombosis, infection, and catheter obstruction were compared with complications, and exercise compliance was used to compare the functional exercise of the two groups. Results There was no significant comparison of nursing indicators between the two groups before the implementation of different nursing (P>0.05). After the implementation of different nursing, the ESCA self-care ability score, the Champion health belief score was higher, and the MCMQ medical coping style score was better, and the comparison of nursing indicators was statistically significant (P<0.05). At the same time, the probability of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the exercise compliance after catheterization was higher than that in the control group, and the comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical nursing pathway nursing model applied to cancer chemotherapy patients has a positive effect, which can promote the improvement of patients self-care awareness, increase their health beliefs, make them optimistic and positive about chemotherapy, and ultimately reduce the probability of disease complications and improve exercise compliance, so that patients can benefit more.
