The Articles of Association serve as a core document for internal management in a company and have a profound impact on its long-term development and strategic planning. In the context of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, the translation of company’s official documents such as company articles is crucial for attracting foreign investment and promoting cooperation with international partners. This paper takes the Articles of Association of a certain university’s asset management company in Hubei Province as the research subject, using Newmark’s text typology theory as an analytical framework to explore the nature of legal texts such as company articles. Through analysis, the author argues that the Articles of Association is a hybrid text that combines expressive, informative, and vocative functions. On this basis, this paper further explores how to apply translation techniques, such as literal translation, the use of modal verbs, adjustments to sentence structure, omission, and addition, under the guidance of communicative and semantic translation strategies, to ensure the accuracy and fluency of the translation. The application of these translation techniques not only helps maintain the legal efficacy and authority of the original text but also ensures that the translated text conforms to the expression habits of the target language, providing valuable insights and reference for the English translation of company articles and other legal texts.
