Objective To investigate the effect of fire dragon pot in the postoperative treatment of patients with thoracolumbar fracture undergoing internal fixation. Methods From April 2022 to May 2023, 58 patients with internal fixation of lumbar fracture in our hospital were selected as the objects, and divided into control group (29 cases, conventional postoperative treatment) and observation group (29 cases, postoperative dragon pot treatment) by random order. The incidence of postoperative abdominal distension, abdominal distension score and first exhaust time were compared. Results There was no difference before treatment in abdominal distension score between the two groups. After treatment, GSRS score in observation group was lower than that in control group (P<0.05). The first exhaust time, abdominal distension relief time, first defecation time and defecation frequency within 5 days of the two groups were compared. The time index of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the defecation frequency was higher than that of the control group, P<0.05. The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion In the postoperative treatment of patients with lumbar fracture after internal fixation, dragon pot therapy can improve the symptoms of abdominal distension, reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, and help patients recover.
