Objective This paper will study the application effect of evidence-based nursing for pregnant women with gestational diabetes, so as to control maternal blood sugar index and pregnancy outcome. Methods From January 2022 to December 2023, 92 cases of gestational diabetes patients admitted to our hospital were selected as research objects, and were classified into the routine group and the intervention group according to the wishes of patients and their families, 46 patients in each group were given routine nursing and evidence-based nursing intervention, respectively, and the effects of maternal nursing in the two groups were compared by comparing the two different nursing methods. Results The improvement of maternal mental state and control of blood sugar level in the intervention group were better than those in the conventional group, and the incidence of complications was lower, and nursing satisfaction was higher (P < 0.05). Conclusion In clinical nursing work for pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus, evidence-based nursing intervention can effectively improve the psychological state of pregnant women, maintain normal blood sugar level, lower maternal and newborn complications, and higher nursing satisfaction of pregnant women and their families, which is conducive to improving the quality and level of clinical nursing work.
