Objective To study and analyze the value of psychological nursing combined with cognitive behavioral nursing in elderly patients with chronic diseases. Methods 60 patients with chronic diseases in our hospital from March 2021 to October 2023 were selected and divided into study group and control group with 30 cases in each group by random number table method. Patients in both groups received routine care for chronic diseases. The research group simultaneously implemented psychological nursing combined with cognitive behavioral nursing and continued intervention for 6 months, and evaluated and compared the chronic disease control effect, psychological status and quality of life of patients in the two groups. Results After 6 months of nursing, the total effective rate of disease control in the study group was higher than that in the control group, the scores of SAS and SDS were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of WHOQOL-BREF in various fields were higher than those in the control group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion Psychological nursing combined with cognitive behavioral nursing intervention for elderly patients with chronic diseases can improve the control effect of chronic diseases, improve the negative psychology such as anxiety and depression, and improve the quality of life.
