Objective To analyze and study the effect of failure mode and effect analysis combined with PDCA cycle management on improving nursing quality in hepatobiliary surgery nursing management. Methods The experimental period is from February 2023 to February 2024. The experimental subjects are 80 patients who received treatment in the Department of hepatobiliary surgery of our hospital during this period, and they are divided into two groups with the same number of people according to the order of admission treatment. 40 patients who first entered the hospital for treatment are included in the control group, and routine nursing management mode is implemented. Failure mode and effect analysis combined with PDCA cycle management were performed on 40 patients admitted to the hospital after treatment, and then the nursing qualification rate and satisfaction rate of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results Compared with the experimental data, it can be seen that the nursing qualification rate, complaint probability and incidence of error events of patients in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The number of patients in the observation group who were satisfied with nursing services accounted for 95%, and that in the control group was 80%, the difference was significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of failure mode and effect analysis combined with PDCA cycle management in the nursing management of hepatobiliary surgery can improve the nursing quality of the department and reduce the occurrence of error events to a large extent.
