Objective To explore the clinical effect of glimepiride tablets combined with sitagliptin tablets in community patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods The study sample was provided by the Community Health Service Center of Tinglin Town, Jinshan District, Shanghai. A total of 100 community type 2 diabetes patients were treated from January 2022 to October 2023. Number table method of group, divided into 2 groups, 50 cases / group. The control group was treated with sitagliptin phosphate tablets, and the observation group was treated with glimepiride tablets. The treatment effect, drug adverse reaction rate and blood glucose, lipid and islet function levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results In the treatment effects: the observation group was more effective than the control group (P <0.05). Adverse reactions: the incidence of medication in the observed group was compared with the control group (P> 0.05). In the observation group, FPG, 2 hPG, HbAlc, TC, TG, LDL-C, FINS, and HOMA-IR levels were lower and HOMA- β levels were higher than the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of community type 2 diabetes, glimepiride tablets and sitagliptin phosphate tablets have good results, which can improve the blood glucose and lipid level, promote the recovery of islet function, control the disease, and the drug safety is high, which is worthy of promotion.
