Objective To analyze the application effect of pain management with pharmacist participation in accelerated rehabilitation for patients undergoing knee replacement surgery. Methods A total of 70 patients who underwent elective knee replacement surgery in our hospital from November 2022 to November 2023 were selected and divided into two groups using a random envelope method. Patients who received routine pain management after surgery were selected as the control group, with a total of 35 cases. Patients who received pain management with the participation of pharmacists after surgery were selected as the observation group, with a total of 35 cases. Compare the degree of pain, irrational use of analgesics, and incidence of adverse reactions caused by analgesics between two groups at different postoperative time points. Results (1) 12 hours after surgery, there was no significant difference in NRS scores between the two groups of patients (P>0.05); At 24 hours, 2 days, 3 days, 5 days, and 7 days after surgery, the observation group had lower NRS scores (P<0.05);(2) The irrational use rate of analgesic drugs in the observation group was 8.57%, lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); (3) The incidence of adverse reactions caused by analgesic drugs in the observation group was 5.71%, lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Implementing pain management involving pharmacists in accelerated rehabilitation for patients undergoing knee replacement surgery can alleviate patient pain levels and reduce the incidence of irrational use of analgesics, reduce the risk of adverse reactions caused by irrational drug use.
