[Abstract] Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of median nerve electrical stimulation (MNES) in the treatment of post-cerebral infarction cognitive impairment (PSCI). Methods Ninety-six patients with PSCI in our hospital from January 2021 to March 2022 were the subjects of this study and randomly assigned by the digital table method. The control group received conventional rehabilitation therapy, while the observation group received MNES therapy on the basis of conventional rehabilitation therapy for a total of 6 weeks. Before and after treatment, patients were evaluated with Mini-Mental State Scale (MMSE), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NHISS), Modified Barthel Index (MBI), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS). Results After treatment, the MMSE score and MBI score of the two groups were significantly increased, and the NHISS score was decreased. After the intervention, the SAS and SDS scores of the two groups of patients were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group after the intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion MNES treatment of PSCI can effectively improve the cognitive function and neurological dysfunction of patients, improve the quality of life, and reduce negative emotions.
