[Abstract] Objective To explore the relationship among neuroticism, attachment and intolerance of uncertainty of adolescents. Methods 634 adolescents were investigated by questionnaires, including the second version of big five personality test (BFI-2), Experiences of close relationships questionnaire (ECR) and Intolerance of uncertainty questionnaire(IUS-12). Results Neuroticism was significantly positively correlated with attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety (r=0.250, 0.534, P<0.01); neuroticism was significantly positively correlated with intolerance of uncertainty (r=0.437, P<0.01); attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety was significantly positive correlated with intolerance of uncertainty (r=0.189, 0.466, P<0.01). Attach -ment anxiety played a mediating effect on the relationship between neuroticism and intolerance of uncertainty, with a mediating effect value of 0.18, accounting for 40.91% of the total effect. Conclusion There is a positive correlation between neuroticism, attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety, and intolerance of uncertainty in adolescents; attachment anxiety plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between neuroticism and intolerance of uncertainty.
