Objective: To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Brief Behavioral Inhibition/Activation Scales, (BBIS/BAS). Methods: A sample of 371 college students and a sample of 340 middle school students were tested, in which 100 students were selected for re-test four weeks later. Meanwhile, The Short Version of the UPPS-P Impulsive Behavior Scale (S-UPPS-P) and Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form (IGD9-SF) were selected as the criterion measurement. Results: The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis support the three-factor structure model, the fit indices were χ2为32.75，χ2/df为1.36；CFI为0.99，TLI为0.94，RMSEA为0.03，SRMR为0.03, all meeting the criteria standards for adequacy of fit. The critical ratios of all the items in Chinese version of BBIS were significantly(P<0.001), the correlation between each item and the score of total scale or three subscales ranged from 0.48 to 0.91. The Cronbach’s α coefficients of the total scale and three subscales ranged from 0.63 to 0.88, and the test-retest reliability after 4 weeks ranged from 0.73 to 0.81. The total score and three subscales of the Chinese version of BBAS/BIS showed a significantly positive correlation with that of the S-UPPS-P score and total score of IGD9-SF(r=0.12~0.56, P<0.001). Conclusion: The Chinese version of BBAS/BIS has good reliability and validity, which can be used as a useful tool to research sensitivity to awersive or rewarding stimuli.
