Objective: To explore the relationship between mental health status and relapse among substance addicts.Methods: 1551 substance addicts were evaluated by Psychological Healthy inventory (PHI) and basic demographic information questionnaire.The phi scores of substance addicts with different gender, age, marital status and Relapse times were compared.the correlation between gender, age, marital status, phi scores and Relapse times was analyzed by Pearson.Hierarchical regression analysis model was used to explore the prediction of phi factors on the Relapse times in substance addicts.Results: There were significant differences in multiple dimensions of phi among substance addicts with different gender, age, marital status and Relapse times, P< 0.05.Multiple dimensions of mental health significantly predict relapse of substance addicts. somatization significantly positively predicted the Relapse times, P< 0.001.Psychopathic Deviate positively predicted the Relapse times P< 0.05. Anxiety significantly negatively predicted the Relapse times, P< 0.01.Hypochondria significantly negatively predicted the Relapse times, P< 0.05.Conclusion: Substance addicts with different gender, age, marital status and Relapse times have different mental health status. Mental health is an important predictor of relapse of substance addicts, Attention should be paid to the mental health of substance addicts and targeted psychological intervention should be carried out.
