Objective: To analyze the anesthetic effect of dexmedetomidine in painless gastroscopy. Methods: From October 2020 to October 2021, 86 patients who received painless gastroscopy in our hospital were selected for the study. They were randomly divided into two groups, 43 patients in each group, according to the number table and the alternating order method. That is, the control group with propofol anesthesia and the observation group with dexmedetomidine anesthesia were used to compare the anesthetic effects of the two groups. Results: The onset time and duration of anesthesia in the observation group were better than those in the control group (t=8.154, 13.165, P<0.05), but there was no difference in recovery time (t=1.017, P>0.05); The VAS score of pain during and after treatment in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the Ramsay score of sedation was higher than that in the control group (t=6.716, 5.424, t=5.190, 7.702, P<0.05); The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 6.98% (3/43) lower than that in the control group (18.60% (8/43))(χ2=6.053，P＜0.05). Conclusion: The application of dexmedetomidine in painless gastroscope has a good anesthetic effect, can significantly improve the analgesic and sedative effects, and has higher drug safety, which is worthy of promotion.
