Objective: To investigate the effect of risperidone on schizophrenia. Methods: 60 schizophrenic patients were taken from our hospital from February 2020 to January 2021. All the above patients were treated with risperidone. The treatment efficiency of the patients was observed. The thyroid hormone level, positive symptoms, negative symptoms and adverse reactions of the patients before and after treatment were analyzed and compared. Results: After treatment, the effective rate of patients was 78.33%, of which 46.67% were markedly effective, 31.67% were effective, and 21.67% were ineffective. After treatment, the thyroid hormone levels T3, T4 and FT4 were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and FT3 and TSH were higher than those before treatment (P<0.05). The positive symptoms and negative symptoms of patients after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 20.00%, including 5.00% of insomnia, 6.67% of headache, 5.00% of nausea and 3.33% of sharp increase in body mass. Conclusion: Risperidone can play a certain therapeutic effect in the treatment of non schizophrenic patients. It can improve the thyroid hormone level of patients and relieve their positive and negative symptoms. However, the drug has adverse reactions, such as insomnia, headache, nausea, etc. It is recommended that the dosage of the drug should not exceed 6 mg per day.
