Objective To evaluate the effect of general surgical nursing for acute appendicitis. Methods 380 patients with acute appendicitis in our hospital from June 2014 to August 2022 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. The control group received routine care. The observation group, based on routine care, refined the nursing measures in strict accordance with general surgical regulations, and compared perioperative indicators, pain levels, stress indicators, and complications between the groups. Results The intraoperative blood loss of the patients in the observation group was less than that in the control group, and the intraoperative time, anal exhaust time, incision healing time, and hospital stay were all shorter than those in the control group, with significant differences (P<0.05); The VAS score of patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P; The analysis of stress indicators showed that there was no significant difference between the groups before nursing (P>0.05), but after nursing, there was a decrease, and the observation group was lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of general surgical nursing measures to patients with acute appendicitis after surgery can improve the safety and effectiveness of surgical treatment, speed up the rehabilitation of patients, and ensure the treatment effect, which is worth promoting.
