Objective To investigate the effect of intrathecal amphotericin B+5-fluorocytosine injection on bacterial meningitis in children. Methods All children in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups by computer. Sixty children with bacterial meningitis were equally divided into the observation group (n=30) and the control group (n=30). The former received intrathecal amphotericin B+5-fluorocytosine, and the latter received intravenous amphotericin B and 5-fluorocytosine. The implementation time was from January 2021 to January 2022. The clinical efficacy and relevant recovery time indexes of the two groups were compared. Results In terms of total effective rate control, there was a great difference between the two groups, 96.67% in the observation group and 86.67% in the control group (P<0.05); On the control of white blood cells returning to normal, body temperature returning to normal and hospital stay, the observation group was (6.35±1.25) d, (10.65±2.18) d, (15.35±5.24) d respectively, which was significantly shorter than the control group (8.63±2.10) d, (12.25±2.45) d, and (21.03±5.52) d (P<0.05). Conclusion In order to treat bacterial meningitis in children, intrathecal amphotericin B+5-fluorocytosine injection is effective and can shorten the recovery time of children.
