Objective This paper explores the application effect of nursing risk management for children who undergo peripheral intravenous indwelling needle infusion in the outpatient clinic of Maternal and Child Health Hospital. Methods The enrolled samples were selected from 80 children who underwent peripheral intravenous indwelling needle infusion in the outpatient clinic of this maternal and child health care hospital from August 2021 to September 2022, and the occurrence of risk events was compared with the time of intravenous indwelling needle in the two groups. Results After the use of nursing risk management, both the time of intravenous indwelling needle retention and the occurrence of risk events in the children were better than those in the conventional management group, and P<0.05 indicated that there was a comparative significance. Conclusion After the implementation of nursing risk management, the incidence and retention time of risk events during the peripheral intravenous indwelling needle in the outpatient clinic of Maternal and Child Health Hospital significantly reduced the occurrence and retention time of the peripheral intravenous indwelling needle, and promoted the improvement of the recovery rate of the children, which is worthy of wide clinical promotion.
