Objective To evaluate the effect of therapeutic communication nursing intervention on negative emotions in patients in the emergency department. Methods The study cases were 9,227 infusion patients among 96,556 patients in the emergency department of our hospital, which were divided into 4614 cases of observation group and 4613 cases of control group by random number table. The control group adopted routine nursing, and the observation group carried out therapeutic communication nursing intervention to compare the nursing effects achieved by the two groups. Results After nursing, the awareness of infusion knowledge, anxiety and the compliance of infusion treatment were significantly improved compared with the control group, the success rate of one puncture was significantly improved compared with the control group, the incidence of adverse events during infusion treatment was less than that of the control group, and the satisfaction of infusion nursing management was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of therapeutic communication nursing intervention in the nursing management of intravenous infusion patients in the emergency department plays an important role in improving the quality of clinical nursing service, enhancing patients physical and mental comfort and coordination, improving patients anxiety, reducing the occurrence of infusion adverse events, and improving the safety and effect of infusion.
