Objective To study and observe the value of nursing training in reducing long-term PICC catheter related infection in tumor patients. Methods 86 tumor patients with long-term PICC catheter indwelling in our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were randomly selected. According to the order of the patients in our hospital, patients in odd order were divided into control group, and patients in even order were divided into observation group. The same routine nursing care should be used. At the same time, the observation group strengthened additional nursing training for intervention. Finally, the qualification rate of the knowledge of the corresponding nursing staff of the patients and the occurrence of related infections were compared. Results The qualified rate of the corresponding nurses in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the related infection rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion For patients in oncology department, PICC catheter needs to be retained for a long time, so there are many cases of related infection. By strengthening nursing training, improving the level of each nurse and ensuring the fine and standard nursing process, we can greatly optimize the nursing process of nurses, ensure the accuracy of each step and the effectiveness of preventive measures in advance, so as to reduce the probability of patients with related infection.
