Objective To explore the effectiveness of nursing risk management in implementing intravenous infusion therapy in outpatient and emergency departments. Method A total of 300 patients admitted to our outpatient and emergency department from January 2022 to December 2022 who needed intravenous infusion were randomly divided into a control group (150 cases, receiving routine nursing management) and an observation group (150 cases, receiving nursing risk management). Compare the incidence of adverse reactions to infusion, nurse patient disputes, and patient satisfaction after nursing management between two groups. Result The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (p<0.05); The incidence of nurse patient disputes in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05); The patient satisfaction of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Conclusion Nursing risk management in the implementation of intravenous infusion therapy in outpatient and emergency departments has a significant effect, which can effectively reduce the incidence of adverse reactions to infusion and nurse patient disputes, improve patient satisfaction, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
