Objective To analyze the nursing effect of using comfortable care for elderly patients with chronic cough. Method The study period from March 2021 to May 2023 was selected, and 82 elderly patients with chronic cough who visited our hospital during this period were selected. They were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 41 patients in each group according to different nursing methods. The control group received routine care, while the observation group received comfort care. The comfort scores of the two groups of patients were compared, and the sleep quality scores of the two groups of patients were also compared. Result The comfort score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In terms of sleep quality score, the observation group was also better than the control group, and the difference was also statistically significant, P<0.05. Conclusion The application of comfort nursing has a significant effect, which can improve the psychological and physiological comfort of elderly patients with chronic cough, promote normal sleep, and is worth promoting.
