Objective To analyze the intervention effect of "I" type 3M adhesive tape in the elderly toothlesstracheal intubation fixation. Methods Fifty elderly toothless patients who were treated in our hospital in recent oneyear with ventilator assisted respiration on endotracheal intubation were randomly divided into the study group (25cases were fixed with "I" type 3M adhesive tape for endotracheal intubation) and the control group (25 cases werefixed with traditional flat tape and adhesive tape for endotracheal intubation). The application effects of the twogroups were compared. Results In the study group, the incidence of oral ulcer, the incidence of mouth and lippressure ulcers, and the situation of oral odor were significantly lower, and the patients comfort was significantlyhigher than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no unplanned extubation or VAP in either group; The costof disposable medical consumables in the study group was lower, and the compliance of nurses was higher, with astatistically significant difference compared with the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The fixation method of"I" type 3M adhesive tape can effectively improve the comfort of patients, reduce the complication rate of skin andmucous membrane, and save the use of sterile cotton pad and gauze. It has definite clinical application value.
