Objective: To analyze and study the effect of artificial hip replacement in elderly patients with old intertrochanteric fractures. Methods: The random number table method was used to group 56 elderly patients with old intertrochanteric fractures admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to February 2021. One group was the reference group (n=28), which received proximal femoral anti-rotation intramedullary nail fixation; the other group was the experimental group (n=28), which received artificial hip arthroplasty. The effects of different treatment methods in the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results: After treatment by different methods, both groups of patients achieved certain therapeutic effects. The operation-related indicators, hip joint function recovery effect, and complication rate of the experimental group were better than those of the reference group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant. Meaning (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The effect of artificial hip replacement in elderly patients with old femoral intertrochanteric fracture is definite, which can effectively improve the hip joint function and reduce the occurrence of complications. This treatment method is worthy of clinical promotion.
